Horticulture experts and enthusiasts across the Highland Lakes will have the opportunity to become a certified Master Gardener with an 11-week class beginning Feb. 17, 2026 through the Highland Lakes Master Gardener Association.

The deadline to apply is Jan. 30.  The cost is $195 per person, which includes a textbook and a master gardener t-shirt. Classes will take place at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in Burnet, at 607 N. Vanderveer Street, with various field trips included, through April 28.

Courses will teach participants the principles of horticulture conservation and sustainability, helping produce fresh fruits and vegetables for several Burnet County food banks.

Guest speakers will also take rising masters through topics like soil composition, pest management, native plant gardening, vegetable gardening, landscape design, water conservation and harvesting, and plant propagation.
