Cut it to however tall you want your plant to be.

If you’re new to propagating, thicker the stem, harder to root and avoid root rot.

After you cut, let the it callous over for 24-48 hours. After that, dip the cutting into rooting hormone (optional).

Option 1: Place one in cutting into water in a glass that has a wide mouth, don’t use a narrow glass, you need airflow so you don’t get rot. When you see the water has evaporated, add more water.

Option 2: plant cuttings directly into a chunky soil. Water as usual.

Option 3: rehydrate moss, wring out the water, loosely packed into a Tupperware container, snuggle the cutting into the moss. Put a top on, but not all the way, you want airflow. Drizzle water into the moss when it’s dry

You should air layer. Its one of the most reliable methods for an umbrella tree
