I wouldn’t try to hand pick the weeds, that’s futile there, way too many. Stopping watering as frequently will limit the growth.

Please be careful with whatever herbicides you use. That canal is right next to you so make sure to be extremely safe near it. Check the herbicide labels to see what warnings they have about use near water or runoffs.

Atrazine 4L Mix 1.5 ounces per gallon with 1 once of surfactant. Atrazine sometimes takes time to show signs it’s working but does wonders and is relatively safe around water when used according to the label.
