Help! I just pulled this out of the pot after watching and notice this root shooting through the plastic liner. What should I do? Cut the plastic off? Re-pot it? Watering by flooding for 1 min each week or 1-1/2 week. Moderate light in dining room window. Potting mix is same as when I bought it.

you don’t need to do anything! just leave it alone.

    I agree with u/thequeenof6planets

I’ll add that I would cut the flower stalk below the last node that had a flower. I’ve had good luck with this, you might want to head over to r/orchids and get their opinion.

I’m always jealous of people with windows over their kitchen sink like this. It’s practically a mini greenhouse! I have a tiny little ridge.

Totally normal for the roots to be growing out of the pot every which way. Just use the color of the roots to know when to water. They get green when hydrated and silver when they’re ready for a drink.
