My grandad wants help with seeing what this is. He thought cabbage was meant to grow and now it’s flowering up the top.
From a Google search it think maybe the flowering is a weed. White broom ? Idk anything about plants hahah
Any help would be appreciated.

It’s a Brassica that has flowered.
if left in the ground for too long or put under significant stress (extreme highs and lows in temperature or inconsistent watering) cabbages grow the flowers that you’re seeing now. nothing really to be done at this point other than wait for the seed to develop – you’ll know when they’re ready as the flowers die off and you’ll be left with pale seed pods filled with black/brown seed. then just replant and get many more cabbages next year 🙂
cabbages as well as many other brassicas are biennial plants, so they create the edible cabbage head within the first year of their life and flowers in the second. if this was the first year of the cabbage’s life and it’s producing flowers then it’s been very stressed and has bolted. unfortunately that’s becoming more and more of a common problem the way our climate is going.
