Give it time. You want them to stay short. You don’t want long petioles because then when the leaves get bigger they can’t support the weight. Also it means it’s getting adequate light. If it gets leggy it’s because it’s not getting enough light. Also it will look way different once the leaf opens and hardens off.

My big box rescue thai con did the same thing. First new leaf after I got it home was shorter than the previous growth, I’m guessing it’s the grow lights being stronger than the lights from the store and wherever they stored it at between the greenhouse and the shelf causing it to be less leggy
