Not a cactus, but a “Trichodiadema densum”, commonly called African Bonsai or Miniature Desert Rose. They grow thick bulbous roots under the soil called a caudex that can be raised above the soil level to give it the look of a trunk! Typically growing in a short mat about 4” (10cm) tall and blooms with many purple flowers.

The hairs on the end look like spines but are harmless. Like most succulents a gritty well draining soil is prefered and needs water when the leaves start to wrinkle.

These are awesome Plants. Make sure to give it lots of light (6+ hours of direct sun) if you want it to thrive.
