Teenager dies after car crashes into garden

An 18-year-old man has died and four people have been arrested after a car crashed into a garden in Bradford.

A grey Ford Fiesta crashed on West Lane in Baildon shortly before 01:00 GMT on Saturday, West Yorkshire Police said.

The teenage driver was pronounced dead at the scene, officers said, while a 17-year-old female passenger suffered serious injuries. She is said to be in a “serious but stable” condition in hospital.

Police believe the Fiesta may have been “travelling in tandem” with a white Suzuki Swift shortly before the crash, with three 18-year-old men arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and assisting an offender.

Police have asked for anyone with information or footage of the vehicles before the collision to get in touch.
