In todays episode its all about finishing all those unwanted wintery jobs. I also find another steal on marketplace. A set of oak external double doors for free! This has steered the plans to another direction. To renovate the scary shed on the new plot.. the shed on the potting shed will get ah upgrade too.. but the idea of a dedicated potting shed on the new plot will.be fitting. with custom made wooden storage made throught by myself. ill show you how to create the perfect potting shed. I also mulch more paths with wood chippings. the prunarbo sheets were used to trim the boundary of the allotment. I also show you how i mulch the dahlias I overwinter in the raised beds. The sprouts aren’t looking the best this year, however they will be fine for Christmas day. Next year I shall do better. The Fruitcage has a brambles issue which will need to be address in due course.
Linda at the:
@Feelgoodgardens “donated” her unwanted tin sheeting. I’m sure I’ll make use of them.

When we ripped down the ‘summerhouse’ on our land Danny, we ended up with the two doors left over. They are in good order with glass panes. You are welcome to them if it helps. Another great episode mate! 👍
Makes far more sense to build nearer poly….me thinks…. The much anticipated shed… I can’t wait to see it tbf… I love a shed 🌺🌺 lovely vlog Danny …
At least you did not fall of the shed this time <3
Please chop the hedge at the back of the plot to head height so we can see the view of the countryside beyond.
Danny I really think you need to make some time for yourself. I do like your idea of having double doors on your potting shed similar to the one you built on the grapevine plot.
Great update Danny , paticularly liked the advice regarding apple trees , I have a tree grown from seed but haven't yet had an apple or even a flower lol , I have grafted my tree so here's hoping I eventually get the odd flower or apples 😀
As for your Potting shed I say go for it Danny , it makes perfect sense 👍
Really looking forward to seeing you build your new potting shed. It does makes sense to have it by your poly. I thought that was your original plan?
Lol at Linda convincing you that you needed that metal… you know it makes sense 😂
Have a fab week ❤
12:06 you say 'get on top of the roof' as if that's normal ha ha! Just business as usual! 😊
Those shears cut things like butter but butter cuts rather easy I find 😉
Sham3 about the sprouts and mine got mauled by slugs last year.
Poor apple tree 🥲😲
Lovely video. We've taken down fruit trees sadly as they were diseased. I do wonder if so much rain we have and the field behind is responsible. 😢
Your potting shed will be fab irs a lovely spot. So you could really make it an interesting space. Maybe a place to sit in winter sun.
I made a potting shed from an outdoor toilet but its not used now I have a greenhouse.
Hope you have a lovely week.
Those zinc sheets would be ideal for a log pile shed next to the new shed 😁.
You could use cut sunflower stems for bug hotels.
Fig trees are almost indestructible. My husband has been trying to kill mine for almost 2 years and it still keeps sending up shoots. 😂
Much better location. Id prob pull it down completely and use the materials in a new build
Danny you could have one side like a lean to greenhouse and the rest just beautiful.
😂😂 oh you kids and your power clippers. In summer I’m going to show you the guy near us with rows and rows of dahlias and he leaves them in the ground all year. Glad you didn’t fall off the roof 😱, Ali ☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️☔️🇨🇦
Love it when “Jack Frosts been” 🥶
Thank you for another great video.
I recently finished summer pruning on some of my fruiting trees that have finished fruiting and have been harvested.
I just moved two fig trees.I moved them to better area. My banana plants were blocking the sun from them ❤
I think it's a good idea to renovate that rougher looking shed instead of the other. Then you could also use that large area in front of the polytunnel as a nice patio area instead of constantly trying to push back the weeds. Watching you put those bulbs in, makes me sad, I didn't get any bulbs in this fall. There's always next year, I guess.
Thanks for the video !
Good job pruning the apple for espalier training. They will look brilliant Danny.
Lovely catch up Danny.
You were more than welcome to the metal sheeting Danny 👍🤭😂
Thank you for the fig tree cuttings. Tulips will look pretty in the springtime. The rats love tulip bulbs too so beware! Great update and can't wait to see your potting shed finished! ❤ x
Having the seedlings station set up in your poly tunnel worked well for you this season and could do so again.
Plus it saves the hassle of planting elsewhere and moving the newly planted veg/flowers to the poly tunnel.
Perhaps do this again and turn the dilapidated structure on plot 2 into a straight forward but very useable storage shed. For tools, hoops, pots, nets etc.
(Plus have a look at Jen on Plot_No13.
For a good idea. Placing a raised sink next to the shed.
Somewhere to wash, prepare veg and keep it in one place prior to taking home)
Having a storage shed would keep the poly just for growing.
You could add the free window that you picked up recently and aren't giving to Cheryl and save all of the others for the build on plot 1?
Once built put up trellis a little way in front of the shed for your new grape.
Might be sufficient to hide the shed from possible thieves??
The plot could be named the Grapevine garden or plot in a nod to where you started?
On plot 1.
Build the extension to your current shed using your reclaimed windows and wood.
Use this building solely for resting, enjoying the mountain view, cooking and socialising.
Have a very Happy Christmas Danny.

Hi Danny, aww, lovely Linda making you a cuppa and passing on her rubbish too 🤣 and you being very kind giving her some cutting from your fig tree too ❤ you are so right, the potting shed by your polytunnel is a great idea, thinking it through is such a great way for it to work for you and into the future too. We are in our 60+ club and have a plot each & have been creating raised beds the last few years out of pallett collars. Which are starting to rot – so introduced metal beds as they break down. Buying each other them for gifts for Birthday/christmas and our sons too. We want to keep going as long as?we can as we love our allotment life. My hubbyvhas retired in October this year, i have 4 more years to go and im so jealous as he gets more time on his plot now 😂 another great video. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
Refurbishing the existing eyesore shed makes sense. Natural light is important, so it can be used for over-flow seedlings or over-wintering tender plants if you want, and a view looking out at the plot when it's raining with a brew. Having a sweepable solid floor is better than gravel (spilled compost and muddy boots).
Potting and plotting…says it all really.
Playing catch-up before my daily dose of the comedy channel!
Maybe consider the wind direction before deciding on the bean frame layout? Mine face short side to the wind. My sprouts are so so this year too, but I have enough left for Christmas.
I just watched some of this in Hindi – quite funny as it has a Welsh lilt to it PMSL
Do the shed by the Polly tunnel
🎄
That was really helpful Danny – I’ve an apple tree at home and pruning always feels like guess work!!! I’ll check out your apple-pruning video next thanks!!! 👍👍👍
make it into a potting shed with a small place on the side to put tools that u dont take home
I always imagined your new potting shed would go on the
new plot, I was surprised when you said you were changing the old shed.
Much better position i think to go where the scary shed is. X
WHOA! 50 POUNDS for a stalk of Brussel sprouts??!! YIKES!! 😱 seriously? I would grow a field of them 😅
Do you think using the Prunarbos addicting?—lol, either there will be more fruit or no trees next year for many 😂. You started off optimistic and then was doubting 🫣🤭
Linda has the power of persuasion down pat! 😅😅
And it looks like our negative F temps made it your way 🥶 although warmer. This week we will ride the rollercoaster temps from -6F this past weekend to 40s. It’s the strangest weather anymore. Hope our snow doesn’t melt 🙄as I was just celebrating the return of winter after 3 years without. It’s rough on animals and plants.
Yes, a name about ‘The Shed’ seems appropriate 😄
Thanks for the tip when pruning climbing roses. I was always unsure lol.
Hi Danny, 'tis the season to get jobs done (and to make the most of the sunshine whilst it's still there to be enjoyed). Springtime is only a Winter away and will be upon us before we know it lol. Having heating in the shed allows you to do a few bits, nip inside for a cuppa and a warm up, then carry on outside again.
I like the idea of using the knewel posts as legs for your potting bench (and glad to see that you managed to obtain them without any weaponry being brandished 😜 )
Someone has told me that you can used crushed Aspirin as a rooting powder, have you ever heard of this?
Thanks as always for all the behind the scenes work that goes into each video, you are very much appreciated. Have a great week ahead xx
Hi lovely hopefully the squirrels keep away xxx have a great week xx🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️
Lucky you, having a dry day! I love winter pruning.😊
