I'm in Sydney and saw a post that the US season is finishing so thought I'd share our first dahlia for our season. Not 100% sure if the name. Husband didn't label where he placed each tuber and sometimes first flower isn't as reliable for ID

This is an automatic reminder regarding r/dahlias Rule 3:

When reasonable*, posters should make a good-faith effort to identify which variety/varieties are shown in their photo(s). If you don’t know for certain, please say so. Someone will usually know!

*Common-sense exceptions to this rule will be honored, such as if the photo does not contain a blossom, or if your photo contains large volumes (such as in wide field shots).

If you’ve already done this, thank you! No further action required.

If not, please add a reply to this comment and confirm if you know the name of your dahlia variety/varieties shown in the photo(s). Alternately, if you’re uncertain of the variety name(s), it’s ok to say that, too.

Gorgeous flower. If you want to map your dahlias and cut down on mysteries, try BloomsInRows, a dahlia tracking web app for any device (I use laptop, tablet and phone). The free version will do you for mapping 100 plantings. I’m from NZ and use it every day. I pay and have created my own stages and take photos every few days, giving me a great record of performance for every tuber… and so much more. Just mapping your tubers planted may be enough for you though.
