I think I made a mistake. I repotted my pothos last week because there were some yellowing leaves and the soil seemed too compacted. I hadn’t replaced the soil since I bought it a couple of months ago and was afraid that it would be retaining too much moisture so I decided to repot. I used a chunky mix of soil, orchid mix and perlite and repotted into a pot which wasn’t much bigger (1 or 2 inches). Today I noticed that two or three leaves were turning yellow and one leaf was a little wrinkly. I then noticed this brown spot on a stem. It’s softer than other parts of the stem. I guess it’s rot, right?

That vine may have just had a little damage at repot time because the rest of them look to be fine. If it’s just that vine, I would cut it behind the brown spot to avoid it going into the root system, then chop and prop the vine. Win, win. Safe momma plant, and new/extra babies!
Looks like it. At least it’s only that one. Would just cut it and prop every node on that vine.
I always put my props in either water or prop boxes. Then once rooted, repot it either with mom or in their own pot.
