Grinding up eggshells. Once I have a full carton of used eggshells, I let them sit out for about 5 hours out in the hot sun. I grind them up by using my mortar and pastel. It’s faster to use a blender, but to me, this is fun and I don’t need to use electricity. I like to grind up the eggshells until they turn into a powder, which can be used for your plants to provide calcium and improve the soil structure. Also keeps away slugs and snails.

We wash our and use it in the kitchen….everyone love grinding them up while they wait in the kitchen.
Absoloutely best slug & snail eradicated. Havenât seen a snail in 3 seasons since scattering egg shell throughout my garden.

I dry my shells, then put in large jar and crush/grind with end of rolling pin.
