1 gallon jar thats around 4-6 weeks in. Got a tiny heater that’s keeping it around 80 (a little high, might switch it), as well as an airstone. Two ramshorn and few bladder snail adults and lots of babies. What makes me feel good is that there’s a thriving copepod population. Should I add some cherry shrimp to the mix? I’m a little worried about the water hardness levels

I would do an ammonia test just to be safe honestly. Water test kits are much more reliable, the API Master Test kit is tried and true. For my Walstad jars I do a liquid test and a test strip test before adding shrimp to ensure all measurements are exact.
I have a similar size setup and wasn’t also sure about adding shrimp.
I decided to give it a go, put around 8 cherry neocaridina and added, daily, those bacteria products (some say it’s bogus, some say it works so I added anyway because it could not harm).
Added 2ml of Aquavitro seed bacteria and 2 ml of Azoo Ultra Bioguard.
Have them there for 1 month, not a single death, not 1 amonia spike, some molts and already 1 berried shrimp ☺️
