Hilltop Garden Centre, in Clacton Road, Weeley, hosted a coffee morning event to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thanks to the hundreds of customers who visited the garden centre’s café, the business raised £1,382.
This is over quadruple the fundraiser’s original goal of £250.
Residents donated cakes, spent time in the café and shared the event’s details on social media.
David, the cafe’s head chef, said: “It was amazing to see so many people come together for such an important cause.
“Our customers were incredibly supportive, and it was an honour to witness what a strong and caring community we have here in Weeley and Clacton.”
Macmillan Cancer Support provides essential help to people living with cancer, as well as to their families.
Their work includes offering expert medical advice, emotional support, practical guidance, and financial assistance during incredibly challenging times.
The funds raised at Hilltop’s Coffee Morning will help support Macmillan nurses, helplines, and vital services that ensure no one faces cancer alone.
Hilltop Garden Centre matched the amount raised by customers and suppliers on the day, bringing the final total to £1,382.
The Hilltop team looks forward to continuing to support community-focused events and charitable causes throughout the coming year.
