I'm brainstorming about an ideal habitat for a turtle that I might be rescuing. I want to get a long tank (70 gallons), fill it about halfway, have a waterfall, have some snails, have some leafy greens for the turtle. So I've been looking at tanks people have built. .

I was wondering why I hardly ever see examples of long central islands where the water goes all the way around or maybe like it takes up 2/3 of the area to one side, etc, and no backing.

This image I saw on fb marketplace is the closest thing I've found. I have seen a few that get close but still haven't come across exactly what my brain is going for. If you have any examples you could share or if there's some reason this is not a popular design I'm interested in any discussion.

I did see a discussion where someone mentioned it's difficult to hide the filtering in a 360 setup. I have a separate plan for how I'm going to filter the water outside the tank so it will just be a simple tube in/tube out situation. My main goal is for it to feel comfortable and natural for the turtle and easy to care for.
