We've been trying to identify these nests that look like they could be wasps nests or similar in our back yard, but they don’t look like anything we've seen online.

We also have this orange and black bee buzzing about, does anyone have any insights about whether these are dangerous or not?

fourth photo is a nest in our front yard which I‘m reasonably sure is a wasps nests, but would love confirmation!

Second one looks like a mantis ootheca. The rest are native wasps. Would leave them all be

leave them, wasps are pollinators and good pest control

yeh i get those big wasps around my place, they do the rounds and collect spiders for snacks. never had any issues with them. they will just kind of appear and check you out for a few seconds and then fly off.

Hard to tell from the photo but the orange and black one could be a spider wasp. They kill spiders. They’re not aggressive, if you’re not poking around their nest then they’re not going to hurt you and id assume their nest is probably up high out of reach of a child.
Same goes for our other native wasps, they’re not outwardly aggressive like European wasps are.

If the orange striped wasp in the third picture is large then it could be an Orange Spider Wasp. They look scary but they hunt spiders and are great for the garden. I’ve taught our 8 year old about them and he love seeing them flying around our yard.

More concerned about cable ties holding your joists in place!

Pic 1 and 2 are praying mantis egg cases. Not sure on the bee/wasp in pic 3. Pic 4 is a native wasp nest. Mud dauber or similar. No need to worry about any of it. Doesn’t pose any dangers
