These little white spots are appearing on the plant I was gifted – can somebody please tell me the name of the species if possible, and also let me know what I should do so it grows into a healthy green plant! I currently water it around twice a week. And also, do you think I need to replant it into a bigger pot?

It’s a Golden Pothos (epipremnum aureum)! Perfectly healthy and happy, the white and yellow splotches are Variegation. It’s a mutation of plants. It’s the stuff plant people go nuts for.

Gifted plant? Gently remote the root ball from the pot and check if the roots are fine. Healthy roots should be tan to white in colour and should smell like nothing. If there is root rot, like brown and mushy, and smell like puke, cut off the affected roots.

Caring for it? Better to underwater than overwater. Aroids, like this, hates being overwatered. This will cause root rot. Use a airy soil mix and ensure the pot has drainage holes. They prefer temperatures at 19-26 Degrees Celcius. Bright, indirect light. Direct light will scorch the leaves.

Are you talking about the yellow-white streaks and patches on the leaves, or are there other little white spots I can’t see in the picture? If it’s the former, then these are natural variegation of a golden pothos, epipremnum aureum. If there are other spots, can you post closeups?
