Tonganoxie High basketball
The Tonganoxie basketball teams will be playing in Garden City Roundball Classic for the first time later this week.
THS squads will make the trek to Western Kansas, as will Ottawa and Lawrence Free State. Other teams in the tourney are Garden City, Scott City, Lakin, Hugoton and Coronado (Colorado).
Ottawa is the lone ranked team in the boys field. The Cyclones are ranked No. 6 in 4A.
On the girls side, Garden City is the lone ranked team. The Buffaloes are No. 10 in 6A.
The Tonganoxie girls will play Scott City at 6 p.m. Thursday at Scott City and then will meet either the winner of Garden City and Lawrence-Free State at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Garden City High School or the loser of that game at 3:30 p.m. that day.
The other side of the bracket is Lakin vs. Ottawa and Hugoton vs. Coronado.
THS boys will play SCHS at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Scott City and then Garden City or Free State at 5 p.m. or 8 p.m. Friday. The medal rounds will be played Saturday.
