I got a bunch of seeds I ordered in the mail this weekend. I didn't plan to, but I was up until almost 4 AM Saturday night/Sunday morning sorting, inventorying, spreadsheeting, and thinking I need to start a second notebook just for my flowers/non-edible plant seeds. Next will be getting out the graph paper and figuring out just how much more I'll need to expand the footprint of the existing garden to accommodate everything!

And will I even stick to my plan come spring? Maybe like 30% š¤¦āāļø
Are these catalogs with seeds in it? I like the idea!
I wish I had the time and dedication for this, I want a garden so bad!
Crazy. You just called me out. I was getting my seeds together for outdoor cold stratification before bed. Going to start tomorrow for spring.
I’ve got the seeds. I’ve got the sleeves. I’ve got graph paper. Ordering a six tier grow shelf this week. I’m alone on Christmas and that’s my fail safe plan if I get sad feeling, put the shelf together, organize the binder and start figuring out the plan.

Love it! I did the same yesterday filling out Excel sheets, cataloguing my plants and making a maintenance calendar, haha.
Treated my partner to a presentation on tomatoes 2026 yesterday afternoon: Years past varieties that continue to make the cut, the new in 2025 varieties Iām growing again, and the new additions for 2026. This alongside an explanation of the thematic focus for the coming year and a side project growing for donation to the garden club plant sale. Iāve recieved seeds for all the new-to-me varietiesI I thought Iād be growing but now see that Iāll be adding a few more.
After that, I gave a limited presentation on the peppers so as not to make the session too long, mostly ticking off the varieties with āchocolateā in the name.
Such fun!
I donāt do a spreadsheet but will list the varieties in a notebook, where Iāll keep track of sowing details so that nothing gets forgotten.
Our last frost isnāt til February. I swear Iāve reorganized my ideas atleast 3x including last night lol definitely worth the what ifs hehe. All I have to order is the marigolds.
Hahaha I make my husband sit through my presentation too. š¤£š¤£š¤£ does your partner act interested? Mine is a good pretender. I give him a cup of hot chocolate while I present. I also been told I say āhear me outā ā this would be so wonderfulā ā can you see my prediction on how much we would be savingā only other people that will sit through my gardening presentations or ideas is my gardening club, which I havenāt had time to go to.
It’s taking everything in me to wait until after Christmas to see if I get any of the gifts (garden gifts! lol) I requested. PLUS I always get a new plan in my head once the seed catalogs start coming in!!!
LOL, I invited a friend over to do some winter sowing yesterday. Sensibly, we decided to just hang out and wait until solstice to start sowing. I have 70 mostly native species…and spreadsheet with vendor, price per gram, seeds per gram, and sowing rates. My plan is to winter sow at least one pot of all of them.
I’ve gotten a pile of stuff to use as raised beds this year, so I’m finalizing layout and hardscape after 10 years working on my soil. I’ve moved the garden “beds” (mounds or piles) every year until now.Ā
I’m pretty excited
Wait, you have a method to this madness??
Do you need friends? Can I be your friend?
Placed an order with Seed Savers already; drew out a map of all the vegetable beds, plotted (see what I did there?) flowers, anxiously hovered over bulbs in the ground, yeah, the whole works.
