GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) -The Western Colorado Botanical Gardens has brought back its blue light display for the second year, continuing a holiday tradition that honors Marc Cadez.
The light display took about a month to set up and aims to honor the tradition started by Cadez. Proceeds from the event go to help STRiVE run their vocational programs for people with developmental disabilities.
Officials with the botanical gardens say they received positive feedback about last year’s display.
“People were happy that they could walk around in the lights, not just drive through,” said Janet Howell, events coordinator for the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens. “And just that we were keeping up that, because they used to go by the Cadez family’s lights that they had out, and so they were happy that they could come see them again.”
The display will be available to view December 5-6, 12-13, and 19-20, from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and $25 per family online, and double that price if you buy them at the gate.
