I’m sorry if this is the incorrect sub for a question like this, just hoping for some advice from my local Austin green thumbs.
My house faces northeast and I have a massive Live Oak in the front yard so my living room doesn’t really get direct sunlight (I get a little bit in the kitchen in the morning). I’m installing some wall shelving and was really hoping to add some greenery to it. I don’t mind rotating plants around the house to get the sunlight they need, but there aren’t really any rooms indoors that fit the bill unfortunately.
I don’t want to adopt plants just to send them to their early death. Am I just out of luck? Is artificial greenery my future or are there any plant options on the smaller side that would do well with indirect light? And if so, does anyone have any recommendations on a good place to purchase them?
Thank you thank you.

Consider grow lights. I’ve seen some that look nice actually compliment the room/ ambiance. You can install them into your shelving. A shaded NE window would result in weak and disappointing growth.
I have a golden pothos plant that’s 15 years old, has two babies that are in other parts of the house and it has *thrived* in my dark house where I often neglect them for weeks on end.
Have you given the tried and true low light houseplants a try yet? You’d be surprised what things like snake plants, ZZ’s and pothos can handle. Tillery St has them at a 25% discount for their ongoing moving sale right now.
