My wife and I received this when my father passed away two weeks ago, and we can’t figure out why it looks so bad/is dying.
It’s watered once per week and is about 6 ft from a window that gets direct evening light.
What should we do? Or is it too far gone?

It’s not dying at all. Looks very healthy in fact. Those are the flowers that are browning and that’s what they look like towards the end of their cycle. Also water and light sound just fine.
That’s one of the healthiest peace lillies I’ve ever seen. Pull out the old flowers (they don’t last forever) and wait for more to come (could be a few months based on your location).
Also I’m sorry for your loss 🤍
It’s doing just fine. The blooms last a few weeks then start to turn brown. Cut them off as far down the stem as you can.
It’s beautiful. Cut off dead flowers but I see lots of nice white ones too. Mine only flowers one at a time.
My condolences.
Your Lilly looks quite healthy. Very full and vibrant. Only the flowers are dying off. (&they will dye at the end of there life cycle then you will get new ones when they bloom. Its doing fine
She healty !
Cut of the Brown flowers there just old it wil bloom again
It may be redundant, but your peace lily is thriving. I see new flowers coming through. The brown flowers have come to their end. Cut those off so that the new flowers can grow with plenty of room. My condolences for your loss.
As everyone said, your plant is thriving. My dad passed 5 years ago and I still have the peace lily we received at the time. It’s huge and I’ve split it up when repotting and I have several “babies” that aren’t even babies anymore. Even more incredible is my sister has a peace lily that was gifted to my dad at his retirement in 1999 that is still going strong!!!! She gave me part of that plant and it too is big and beautiful and thriving. I’ve managed to keep all of these alive and they’ve suffered some abuse along the way (under watering, over watering, shuffling around with different light). I have found that when they are flowering they are extra thirsty!
My sincere condolences on your loss 🤍🤍 Sharing my “daddy” plants. The one in the light blue pot is from the 25 year old anniversary plant and the other three are parts of the 5 year old condolence plant.

Not too far gone! Peace lilies recover fast. Just trim the brown blooms, give it more consistent watering and move it a bit closer to bright indirect light. It should perk back up soon.
