Santa will be making his way through the Turtle Mountains to take in the winter beauty of forest and lakes to pay a visit to the International Peace Garden tomorrow, Saturday, December 6th, 11 AM to 3 PM.
Family pictures with Santa, hands-on craft activities for kids, cookie decorating, an artisan market with baked goods and hand-crafted items, and coffee and treats available for purchase from End of the Rainbow Coffee & More are all opportunities waiting to be explored by kids and adults alike.
“Santa at the Garden has become a favorite of our staff as we get to extend our season and showcase what’s beautiful even in the winter months up here at the International Peace Garden,” shares Tim Chapman CEO. “So, we’ve got great crafts, cookie decorating, different artisans will have their table set up. And of course, the big jolly fellow Santa Claus himself!”
“We were really fortunate for the snowfall,” he adds. “I think everyone felt good as far as not having a really early winter, but a pretty reasonable fall. But now we’ve got a good blanket of snow down. There’s not quite enough yet to start grooming ski trails, but enough to have really nice frosty outdoors to greet you as you come in to visit with Santa on Saturday.”

Free Senior Wednesday returns for second year
Last year the Peace Garden offered a warm reprieve from the winter cold through their Free Senior Wednesdays, which was most certainly enjoyed by all who participated. Because remember, at the Peace Garden’s Conservatory, there is always something blooming in the cacti and succulent collection!
“We’re looking to roll out a new slate of programming for free Senior Wednesdays. So, we’re excited to still be offering free Senior Wednesdays. It’s just we need to iron out some of the details as far as what sort of programming will be tied to that this winter.”
“But really any day of the week, especially days that are sunny, the conservatory is open,” adds Chapman. “So, we invite folks to get out of the monotony that we experience with the cold every winter and see some green and allow that to kind of pick your spirits up!”
