I need help learning what I can do for my makeshift terrarium. Just when the little plants were starting to feel comfortable, little flies came to eat my phytonnia.

Data: It was set up about three months ago in an urgent and improvised way. Bottom layer of perlite, another thin layer of sand, universal substrate and decorative stones, nothing special or professional.
The lighting is a simple LED reading tube. Now I have it in blue tones because it seems to attract mosquitoes, about 12 hours a day.
The plants seem comfortable (which makes me happy although I don’t understand it, because the terrarium is accidental and precarious) and since it seems like they are going to get ahead, I don’t want them devoured.
It is not watered because it has a “reservoir” of water nor is it hermetically closed.
I wouldn’t want to use chemicals, if possible.
