Sonoma Botanical Garden will transform into a “twilight wonderland” for three weekends in December, offering lights, music, and festive activities for visitors of all ages.
The holiday event, Gardens Aglow, runs Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from Dec. 5 to 21, with timed, ticketed entry at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $30 for general admission, $25 for members, $12 for youth ages 5 to 17, and free for children 4 and under. Advance purchase is required and the event will take place rain or shine.
Guests follow a twinkling path through the Rose Garden and a glittering tunnel of lights into the Winter Workshop, which features nature-based crafts, face painting, and holiday-themed activities.

Visitors can also relax at an elegant fireside lounge with live piano music, hot chocolate, and local wines.
Outside, the illuminated Founder’s House Garden will offer a fire pit, lawn games, bubbles, and opportunities to visit with Santa on select evenings. Guests can also add wishes for the new year to the “wishing tree”, an oak tree in the garden.

A holiday pop-up shop will sell locally made and sustainably sourced garden-themed gifts, along with freshly popped popcorn.

The event is supported by Sonoma Clean Power, with additional support from the Rotary Club of Sonoma Valley.
Sonoma Botanical Garden, founded in 1987, spans 67 acres in Sonoma Valley and features Asian and California native plants, a California oak savanna, an Asian woodland, and a Cabernet vineyard. The garden’s mission is to inspire appreciation for native plants and promote conservation.
