So my son brought home a little cup with a plant given to him on his last day of school. He/we thought it was an apple tree. For about 3 years it sat on the window sill and just kind of existed. In that time it grew a couple inches. Last year I repotted it and then it started to grow into something that was not an apple tree. After a little research what we have is a dragon fruit tree. Anyone have any ideas on how to care for this beast?!

*Selenicereus undatus* is climbing plant by nature, and it prefers bright light. Even full sun. And, as it is a climber you might want to give it something to cling on to.

Best part: It’s in same genus as famous “Queen-of-the-night”, *S. grandiflorus*, that is known for its spectacular blooms. And dragon fruit flower is pretty similar! So, given enough time it might surprise you with gorgeous but short living flowers!
