A recent report from Swinburne University in collaboration with Botanic Gardens of Sydney, found that 94 per cent of older Australians say having gardening space where they live is extremely important.
For many, a garden is essential to wellbeing. Gardening isn’t simply a hobby; it’s a source of mental calm and physical activity.
But as the housing crisis deepens, not everyone has access to a backyard. Those living in smaller homes, apartments or rental properties — especially older adults — may miss out on these simple but powerful benefits.
That’s why Neos Kosmos want to hear from you. If you’re a long-time gardener, if your parents garden or our younger readers, if your grandparents like to garden — we’d love to share your story.
Send us photos of you with your garden along with a short bio.
Tell us what gardening means to you, how it has shaped your everyday life and how gardening has helped you.
We hope to spotlight a community garden gallery — a celebration of the many ways gardening touches our lives: physical health, mental calm, connection to nature, and sense of home.
Whether it’s a flourishing veggie patch, a flower bed, an indoor herb pot, or a leafy balcony.
