This poor little baby got shipped to me from a well-known Etsy shop as a 2” Philodendron Spiritus Sancti. I’m so devastated. This plant is 1 of 3 that survived and the other two got shipped to me with SEVERE MOLD SPORES. Ugh.

Anyway, I want to revive her, but will she pull through? I put about 3 tablespoons of distilled water and put her on top of a pebble tray and into a mesh bag for quarantine. Any other tips?
I feel scammed honestly and this first time really turned me off from ordering plants online again.

Thank you for reading.

I think what u did is good. U can prolly revive it, but seriously, ask for a full refund if u haven’t done it yet, not two plants but all of them.

Looks like it could be cold damage to me? Has it been cold in your city? Usually it’s a bit of a risk to buy plants when the temps drop too low, certain experiences sellers will either time it right, add a heat pack or not sell at all when it’s too cold.

Anything below 10°c could damage a plant like this.

Looks like pretty bad cold damage and the new growth is damaged too so it’s gonna be a few month long rehab process. Keep it warm under a grow light, if the roots are good it will bounce back. Was there a winter shipping option from the seller or heat pack option? Ordering plants in freezing temps this time of year is risky. You could try to get a refund from the seller if they were improperly packed.

I would sit it in a dish of water overnight. Not sure 3 tbsps is enough.

Looks like cold damage. I wouldn’t order during winter months. Too risky.

What’s the weather been like near you lately, or in surrounding states? It’s the time of year where shipping plants can be pretty dicey depending on where you are

As someone with experience trading plants in the mail, I would say that unfortunately.. sometimes this can happen, but that is not normal.. I also sell on Etsy and I strongly recommend you to message the seller first and allow them to amend this poor delivery. If not then you really should open a case and have Etsy refund your loss. I had a recent plant go missing In the mail. We considered it lost but two weeks later it did arrive, and just fine. But I really take pride in my delivery method. Plant sellers should be held to a higher standard. These are not inanimate objects..
