These pups (also called sucker or hair pups per Bird Rock Tropicals) appear before any bloom and thus are clones of the mother plant instead of regular offset. Perhaps interestingly, my pups are growing quite quickly despite the fact that they should be slow-growing (apparently).

Pics 6 and 7: ehlersiana pup (bought the plant 2 weeks ago and the pup was already there, so I can't be sure how old it is)
