Absolute rookie, complete newbie here who knows nothing about propagation … Have a few branches from a mature olive tree – probably been through some trauma and also was in and out of water for about 3-4 weeks (there was no one to watch over it). Now more stable and been in water for 1.5 week, changes water frequently, mostly indirect light but yesterday moved to a sunnier spot. Today notice it's growing white fuzz!!! Lots of it too. What is this? Have I messed up and killed it? šŸ™

Take it out, wipe off what you can. Don’t damage any growth of roots. You might need to do a 3% alcohol solution to help clean it up. Change out the water each week. It’s a common thing you see in water props.

I’m 99% sure u can’t root olive or at least not to a significant amount. It’s usually spring semi hardwood cuttings with hormone in perlite or well draining media
