This pot used to have sage (?) in it I think, it was given to my mother in law who then gave it to me, but the sage that was in it literally fell out of the pot after some wind as if it wasn’t even rooted. Is this more sage, or is it something different?

Edit to add: purslane is edible and tasty when harvesting young shoots. Kinda lemony peppery.
Purslane.
Edible non sage
I always thought that was chickweed?
I put it in ramen, eggs and salad. Get to it before it seeds because they are tiny and annoying and not edible.
Purslane
Purslane! I love making it with pork ribs in green salsa. So good!
Looks like Purslane, my hubs picked a bunch and pickled it so now we have it on burgers!
FYI, it’s THE most nutrient rich plant that’s in existence. I remember from my wild edible plants class years ago, something like 30x what’s in everyday veggies we usually buy from the stores.
But don’t eat it if chemical fertilizers or anything like that was used near it.
It appears to be a plant of some kind, I hope that helps!
It grows abundantly at my place, I snack on it in the summer when I’m out there.
…everyone saying it’s edible and very nutritious.. And here I just never thought to ask and always have huge piles of it, always toss it to the chickens. If it doesn’t taste like ass I’m RICH.
I thought it was just a weed and have been pulling out for years
