If you want it to bloom again next year, you can peel off that wax after flowering and then pot bulb into well-breathing soil. *Hippeastrums* can live for decades with proper care.

Don’t peel off the outer layers of the bulb, those protect it from drying out
If you want it to flower again put the bulb in soil after the flowers die. Keep it in full sun and water once a week or so. It will grow tall sword shaped leaves. After a few months stop watering and put the pot in a dark corner and the leaves will die. Remove the dead leaves and put the pot in a dark, dry cupboard for at least 6-8 weeks. Then put it in a sunny spot again and water, and it should flower. If it doesn’t and just grows leaves, repeat the cycle
