I change the water and wash the containers regularly, so I’m not sure what changed!

It’s a light exposure issue, especially with variegated plants which have increased light requirements due to having less chlorophyll. They can survive low light for a bit, but less than ideal conditions is catching up. This makes it more difficult for the plant to fight fungal and bacterial pathogens that begin to proliferate. These should be in view of the sky, as a very basic idea of light needs. 💚

edit: It’s also possible that you introduced a pathogen during a water change, but increasing light exposure is a must if you want these to thrive.

Could it be that the water is getting colder due to winter?
