The top of the soil of this plant is grey, I don’t know if it’s normal, if I should just take it off or if it will keep happening. If someone can tell me what this is it would be much appreciated 🙏🏻

    Most likely mineral buildup from hard water (tap water)

    Take a pencil and mix it up a bit if it’s unsightly

    Like the other post has said it is white mineral/salt deposits that are the result of evaporation.

    Do an internet search for all the interesting ways minerals build up on terra cotta pots, some gardeners like the weathered patina it gives.

    This is why I use soil toppers lol my water is so hard it ends up looking so weird
