This tree went completely brown some years ago. Thought it was a goner. Well it luckily came back but it’s scraggly and ugly as hell. It’s also encroaching on my driveway. I don’t want to get rid of it, but I’d like to do some pruning to make it healthier, cut back from the driveway, and prettier. I don’t know much about pruning pines. I assume whatever pruning I do should wait until spring. Any tips are appreciated. Thank you!

That’s not scraggly, that’s a pretty normal pine shape. The neat and tidy Christmas Tree shaped trees that people often refer to as “pine trees” are actually not pines at all, rather Spruce and Firs. Pines do extremely poorly with trims, you’ll want to limit trims to essential driveway clearance only, do not attempt to shape, which can cause them a lot of issues that they are unable to recover from!
