This is my parents’ plant – they initially thought it was a pothos, so I assumed it was a scindapsus (since it definitely doesn’t seem like a pothos). But based on some googling, it might be a philodendron? But the leaves don’t seem heart-shaped enough to me. If anyone can help me identify this, I would really appreciate it!

Neither. I’m thinking Monstera karstenianum ‘Peru’.
Monstera

To discern between a *Philodendron* and a *Monstera*, the following meþods can be used:
See if the new leaf emerges from a leafless sheaþ that later falls off. If so, it is a philodendron. In not, it is either a juvenile enough philo or not a philo.
Look at how the roots initially grow from a node. If a ring of roots grows from the node, in every direction -> philo. If only 1-2 roots, away from the leaf, not a philo.
