Is this etiolated or do these just grow looking like Xmas trees? (It was over-watered but that’s a different matter 😂)

    Usually when you have these rosette succulents, etoliation is fairly obvious as the stem will be easily visible, the leaves will have quite a bit of space between them, and it will become pale green.

    I’ve never had one as big as that, most of mine get dead leaves at the bottom and they don’t seem to grow any larger.

    I would not consider this plant etiolated. That being said, the plant’s growth habit is influenced by sunlight, water, and the proportionality between those. Less water can inhibit the plant from growing taller and keep it in a more compact rosette. Also keep in mind that what we find most attractive may not be what makes the plant the happiest, such as when they exhibit stress coloration.
