Choosing the right soil can truly determine the success of your container or raised bed garden. Heavy soil compacts easily and makes it difficult for plant roots to access water, oxygen, and nutrients. Healthy roots begin with healthy soil, and the blend you choose matters.

This was my first time using a raised bed mix from Revival Gardening here in Central Florida. I purchased it in bulk, they make it on site, and you can either pick it up or have it delivered if you are local. This video is not sponsored. I paid for my soil with my own money and simply had a great customer service experience that I wanted to share.

If you are outside of Central Florida, I encourage you to look for small locally owned nurseries in your area. They often carry soil blends that are well suited to your climate and growing conditions, and supporting local businesses strengthens your gardening community.

If you are doing container gardening or raised bed gardening, soil is one of the most important things that you need to consider. This is my elevated raised bed from VGO garden and I opted to use a local company this time to purchase my soil in bulk. The company is Revival Gardening and they’re right here in Central Florida. And they mix up this soil blend on site. You can either pick it up or have it delivered. What I love about this soil is how nice, light, and airy it is. When you’re choosing the soil for your containers or your raised beds, you want to pay very close attention and ensure that you’re getting a potting soil mix for containers or a raised bed mix for raised beds. Now, the reason why this is important is because these blends are going to have more things in it that’s going to make it nice, light, and airy so that it has good drainage. A mistake a lot of people make when they’re starting their containers or their raised beds, they use a soil that’s a little too heavy, making it difficult for the roots of the plant to breathe, obtain nutrients and water, leading to the plant not succeeding in the place that it was planted. So, it’s really important that you take the time to pay attention to the soil that you’re purchasing. And if you’re in the Central Florida area, definitely check out Revival Gardening. They have a really, really good soil blend. We should all be shopping local. So, if you’re not in the central Florida area, I still want you to find a nursery nearest to you for all of your garden needs. Now, if you have a local small nursery near you that you like to shop at, drop the city, state, and the name of the nursery down below to help your fellow garden friends. Happy gardening.
