Rowlands Plants, based at Knowle Hill in Badsey, has supplied garden centres and nurseries across the UK since 1957, but will now offer a direct-to-consumer service for the first time.
The nursery is launching its new website in hopes of making its plants more accessible to home gardeners.
Tony Rowland, second-generation grower and current owner, said: “This is a really exciting step for us.
“We’ve always supplied the trade, and that will continue as normal — but now we’re also giving home gardeners the chance to buy our plants directly.
“We’re proud of what we grow, and we want everyone to be able to enjoy them.”
The website will offer a wide selection of plants for all gardening abilities, including fuchsias, lavender, pansies, cyclamen, chilli peppers, tomatoes, aubergines, and more unusual varieties.
While the nursery remains closed to the public, Rowlands Plants will now offer free delivery across mainland UK — something both Mr Rowland and his wife and business partner, Jo, feel strongly about.
Mrs Rowland said: “We want our plants to reach as many gardeners as possible.
“Whether you’re in Cornwall or Scotland, everyone should have access to the same great plants, so we’re offering free delivery across mainland UK.”
The website is set to launch at the end of 2025, and development is already under way to introduce the mail-order service alongside the company’s established wholesale operations.
Mr Rowland said: “We’re committed to continuing to support our wholesale customers as always, and this new venture simply allows us to share our plants with even more people who love gardening.”
Gardeners can sign up for early access at rowlandsplants.co.uk and follow Rowlands Plants on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
