Why is my crepe Myrtle looking like this?

Hi everyone. So my ruffled red magic crepe Myrtle has broken out of dormancy but now the leaves look burnt and dry but we’ve been having some rain here in Adelaide over the last week. Any troubleshooting tips for a beginner?
