What do they prefer in depth of pot? I know it’s got to go into a bigger pot. The reason I’m borrowing a stock photo of an ana is because mine has gotten hairy. I know it will regain its beauty when I repot it. I’m waiting for the weather to warm up; the snow to melt. It’s supposed to be 70 degrees on Friday.
One of the few redeeming features of living in Hootersville, Indiana is that sometimes the weather changes ridiculously quickly. And I appreciate that.
But I didn’t want you all to see it in its present not too beauteous condition. The shame!!
So- pot wise: deep, shallow or just regular old regular?
TIA!

Rule of thumb is the rootball should take up between 1/2 to 2/3 of the pot’s volume. Succulents generally like to be pretty snug in their pots.
Anacampseros like wide but shallow pots . Mine like a depth of 6 inches at most . They have broad shallow root systems that spread out rather than down .
Hairy is normal for anacampseros! It’s an adaptation to collect dew. Unless you were using hairy as an adjective to mean haggard or shabby.. I can’t tell. But filaments coming from the leaf axils are normal with this genus.
Wide and shallow. They get fat roots but not extensive. This one has been in this same pot for at least two years. They like a very inorganic substrate, all of mine are in 90% pumice.
