Three varieties as far as I can see:

Garden cosmos (seems to be the ‘basic’ cosmos), Candy stripe cosmos, Sulfur cosmos

  4. Where was this photo taken?  Very beautiful.

Cosmos like to bloom in the fall so if planted enough time befor they come into full bloom in fall. Where was this taken?

Cosmos are my favorite flowers to press! They also dry really well in silica gel and hammer beautifully into fabric. They look beautiful in a vase, keep blooming when you deadhead them and are easy to grow! Mine are currently about 6 ft tall and still blooming! Cosmos are my favorite every year. The butterflies love them, too.

Cosmos. Mine took all summer and decided to get 6 feet tall before flowering, but I love them and I’m collecting the dead heads for next years seed

Where was picture taken? I think they are native to Mexico.

Can cosmos seeds just be broadcast where patchy grass is? If yes, is it better to broadcast in fall or spring?
