The Siam Reptile Ranch spider bottle is basically an upgraded shipping container for Petsmart jumping spiders, but for hobbyist or even professionals, its an amazing alternative to a deli cup. Ultra clear with a flip lid that comes in handy for many reasons. The Zoo-med bioactive enclosure kit comes with everything you need to get started other than the live spider, and live food. The zoo-med kit is on the small side but works great for female bold jumping spiders or smaller / younger jumping spiders. The zoo-med enclosure kit was engineered with many thoughtful and useful design features like the entire top of the enclosure is the lid, which keeps your spiders hammock and web safe, it has a sliding access feeding door, and the acrylic is very clear. For me personally, the top three choices of jumping spider enclosure that you’re going to come across under $25. The cool things about the three enclosures that I’m going to be showing today is there are three very different sizes. The smallest one here, as you can see, is fitting in the palm of my hand, and it can very easily slide into my pocket. Now, this is what I would consider a medium size when you look at the three here, obviously. Now, the bigger containers like this, this is going to be your acrylic aquarium from Thrive. Obviously, much much larger. And we’ll start with the least expensive or most budget conscious option here, which is going to be these Siam Reptile Ranch containers. So, they offer this as a new addition to the market, and I assume that it came out not too long before we started to see the jumping spiders for sale at PetSmart. They make these spider bottles designed with precision and high quality materials, making them ideal for showcasing spiders or other small species. They’re engineered for functionality and aesthetics. And these containers provide a secure and well ventilated environment. You see those same preferations in the lid that they talk about that they were the innovators of on the deli cups we use so often in this industry. They offer these in two sizes. This is an 8.8 ounce and then the slightly taller is an 11 ounce. They are both equipped with a precisely designed pinhole ventilation system and a securely snug fitting lid to ensure optimal air flow while maintaining safety. So, these bottles are an excellent solution for hobbyists and professionals that are looking for a reliable and visually appealing housing option. Now, they’re like acrylic plastic, so they’re very, very clear. I love these spider bottles. I love the fact, especially with the smaller one, I can do it with the bigger one, but with the smaller one, I can literally put this in my pocket, and my son likes to do that, too, and carry not just a jumping spider, but any bug that we collect. And what sets them apart from some random container that you probably already own is this flip lid. So, current pricing from what I found, the MSRP on a 10 pack is $19. So, that’s a like a $1.90 a piece for the 8.8 an 8 oz. A 10 pack of these uh 11 oz is $22. So that’s $2 each. That’s the MSRP, but they’re currently on sale. Uh one other thing with these containers, I have had some people comment on some of my videos where I’m using them that they’re too small for an adult spider. Here’s something that you may have never thought about that I love to do. You can put them in the larger enclosure with the lid off and just close it up. Now, the spider has full access to the inside of this larger enclosure. So, that’s the Syiam reptile ranch. The next one we’re going to look at here is the Zumemed bioactive jumping spider kit. And this comes with a lot more than this enclosure, but I’m going to specifically talk about the enclosure here as far as my experiences with it. Now, I kind of added to this one. I added this, which is like a fake aquarium plant. It’s supposed to be horn wart, also known as foxtail. This is the Zumemed Creatures jumping spider kit. I’ve got a couple videos on this if you look on the channel. It comes with a really cool spray bottle with a jumping spider on there. It comes with a really cool poster that I’ll keep a mystery so that when you get yours, you’ll see it for the first time when you open the poster maybe. But this poster is pretty cool. It’s double-sided and it’s got a lot of information on it. How to put together your enclosure, things like that. Comes with a sticker. I got one of these on my son’s door. He loves it. Savior Creatures with a really cool jumping spider on there as well. Comes with the stick that you see here. Does not come with the fake plant. Again, I added that. And then the Zumemed Creatures Eco Soil. And this holds a lot of moisture. But with this jumping spider habitat from Zumemed, this is $19.99. So, we’re still under $25. You get all that stuff. And you might be thinking to yourself, “Yeah, but it’s not much bigger than this.” Well, it’s engineered a lot differently than this. So this is more of a shipping slashobservation slash for really small spiders enclosure. This was engineered by Zumemed to be a adult jumping spider permanent enclosure. Now if you feel like it’s too small, remember you can always do exactly what I showed you before with a larger enclosure. Take the lid off of this and put it in your larger enclosure and then your jumping spiders got access to the whole enclosure. You could have it decked out with stuff. But this container, as you can see, is designed so that the whole the whole top comes off. It’s got a deep tray here for your substrate of your choice. You could do a bioactive substrate or you could just put down. They make like a terrarium liner that you could cut a piece of. There’s a billion different options. I just like to use the container as it comes. And this is really cool. It’s got this sliding door. The holes in this look bigger than they really are. They They look bigger. They’re very, very tiny. And you won’t even lose any fruit flies out of this. It’s got the same ventilation at the top. And because it has the side and the top, you’ve got cross ventilation that you will not have with something like this. Very easy container to set up. Very, very easy. And I love this container. I think it is on the small side, but for a jumping spider, based on what I observe them do in the wild, it’s perfect if you’re going to get them out and let them roam around a larger container. Just a great enclosure. $19.99 for the kit. I’ve got a complete video on setting this up if you want to look on the channel. It’s a really good video. My family helped me out with that one. My kid was able to mix up the substrate and it came out amazing. So, check that out on the channel. But $20 for this jumping spider kit. Your local independent retailer should be able to get this, but they do sell it at PetSmart and Petco. Again, for the size comparison, there’s the small or there’s the large cyam and there’s the smalls reptile ranch. Okay, perfect size for a bull jumping spider. Now, I know the regals are a little bit bigger, so I get it, right? I totally get it. And that’s what we’re going to talk about. to me the Cadillac of the under $25 enclosures. Let me raise my camera up a little bit. This is the Thrive, which is PetSmart’s in-house brand acrylic terrarium. They call this the tropical acrylic terrarium. It’s 8 in x 8 in x 12 in. So, let me give you the final size comparison where it’s kind of angled towards the camera, but I mean, obviously, yeah. Uh-huh. It’s a little bit bigger, right? And it’s 20 bucks, so like no-brainer. Well, the top comes out, which is awesome. And because of that lip, it keeps your jumping spider from making its hammock on this part that comes off, which is cool because then you can get your hand in there to clean it out or remove stuff or interact with your spider. Now, like I said in the beginning of this video, I love to take a smaller enclosure because it lets me exercise any of the mini spiders and put a smaller enclosure in there and let the spider get out and do what it wants to do. You could have vines in here. You could have some pipe cleaners, a bridge, you could do it however you want. But then your Spidey gets to go back to its home and enclosed in a smaller container. But let me tell you the exact price of it so that you understand here. The retail price is $44.99, which I could totally see. It’s thick acrylic. This is not going to fall apart. This is super solid. Okay, I would not be concerned at all with this having some of the issues that a thinner plastic would have. I mean, this is made to be a$150. This is made to be $40. Okay, it’s going to last. I don’t want to scratch it, but it’s got a ton of ventilation holes. you’re going to lose fruit flies out of the side of this and you’re gonna end up with fruit flies in your house. So, keep that in mind for feeding fruit flies. And that’s just another reason again that I love using a smaller container for my spider’s hammock and permanent, you know, home, I guess, to sleep in. Think of it like an RV parked in a big property, right? So, again, these are all empty cuz I’m going to be resetting them. I got to clean them out. I like to clean them out in between spiders and stuff like that. But so this Strive acrylic terrarium is available at PetSmart. It’s PetSmart’s house brand. I don’t think Petco has one comparable to this at that price. I could be wrong. And if I am wrong, I’ll get one and I’ll do a video like this on it. But this is a easy assembly and stackable design, believe it or not. Yeah, you can stack them, which is really, really cool. Retail price $44.99. When Pets Mart does its half off on reptile enclosures, this is included. I’m telling you, you’ve got to check it out. The door is magnetic, but it has a latch. The top part comes off. I mean, definitely worth $20. Now, I say $20. It’s $2249. That’s why the video is best enclosures under 25. This is the Thrive. Uh, I don’t think I actually said the size of this one. So, let me go back to this one and just let you know that the size on it is 3x3x 6. Okay, 3x3x 6. And then here for $22, you’ve got 8 by8 by 12, which to me is amazing. So, those are my top three current favorite containers that you would buy as a made for this purpose type container. Again, I know there’s a lot of really cool DIY options out there.
