We grow almost all our fresh produce in our backyard container garden here in Jamaica 🇯🇲.
We encourage and inspire others to grow their own food and become more self sufficient. Our goal is to grow 100% of our vegetables and fruits Organically right here at home 🏡
We also raise meat chickens, laying chickens and rabbits. These animals helps us to establish a Permaculture style gardening that has been incredibly successful.
We use mainly used/recycled ♻️ materials/containers to grow a large amount of fresh fruits and vegetables.
We try to be as self sufficient as possible with the foods that we can grow ourselves and encourage you to do so too. Grow your own food.

This is nice. Don’t flap me. Do not flap roster. Right. Put off the little point. White burst. [Music] I kid you not. It tastes as though it was sweetened with sugar. pick a pumpkin leaf to line my basket. Welcome to the channel, guys. My name is Mari. If you’re new here, behind me is my container garden where we grow all our fresh vegetables and most of our fresh fruits. Now I’m putting my pumpkin leaf to line my new basket right here. Guys, help me to tag. It says a gift for you from my Amazon wish list from Jamie Sanders. Thank you so much, guys. this the um shine pan getting a run for its money because to be quite frank than the shine pan. So I’m embracing change now. We have some harvesting to do in this garden that is going cray cray and I’m taking you along. How are you doing guys? I hope you’re doing fantastic. My mangoes. We’re giving away mangoes from this tree every guys. This is perfect. Look at it. But it has stained and that is why I place my pumpkin leaf in my basket. Oops. [Music] Oh man. And this mango tree is not done producing. It has more to come on it. These are beautiful. I didn’t know so many persons like stringy mangoes. We took stringy mangoes for the giveaway and I don’t know when they went. I have no idea. I didn’t know. I have more up here. Ooh, this one is spread it too. These are little cherry tomatoes. Beautiful. Oh my word, there are so many peppers to harvest from right here. I need Steve to help me. have some thing there back here. What’s it called? Um, banana leg tomatoes. Look at this. Wait, wait, wait. This is nice. Huge, pretty. I’m sure sweet. Let me get this top one first. Wow. It’s a yellow fruit and vegetable kind of morning. Wow, that’s beautiful. Nice. Nice. Nice. Nice. Yes, yes, yes. These papayas outdid themselves this year. Now you tell me. Look at that. You see why? Look at it. I don’t even have to turn it over for you to see what’s in there. This is a lovely basket. Thank you, Jamie. Appreciate it, man. All right, let me get these tomatoes. Why is these tomatoes flopped me for the giveaway? I planted so many for you guys and close to the date the disease just took them out. Don’t know. I don’t know, man. Was a disappointment. But hey, once we have life, we can do this again, right, guys? Think so. These are beautiful. And I wanted to share these with you so bad. And they produce so much. They are prolific producers. They’re so beautiful. All right, we have plenty more stuff to get from up top. These are beautiful pavlano peppers. This plant went through the storm, broke off totally, and I’ve been getting so many peppers from it. And they’re so gorgeous. They’re beautiful. There peppers all over it. You look at the stem, you see how old it is. And this is where it broke off in the storm right here. And it just sprang back these new branches. So don’t be afraid to prune your pepper plants. Now it is filled with all sort of pest but hey still producing. Look at banana leg tomatoes right back here. You see that? You see it? That’s crazy. Thought that plant died. Where should I walk around here? spotted a red okra. Now look here. The red okra it produced so fast. These ones way too old. But this one right here, this little one, this one is still good to go. So, I’m going to save these ones for seed. I have I’m on a seed collecting drive. I have some right here that I’m going to harvest cuz they falling out the pods. But this one is good to eat that beetroot. Going to come harvest those beetroot with you one of these days. Soon though cuz they’re ready to go and I need my containers to replant new stuff. Look at this. Who could it be? Look at this. This is just pure utterly utter. I can’t find words. Tomatoes here. There’s food everywhere in this gardens. You have tomatoes right here. So, as well have this bell pepper. This can be harvested right now, but I’m saving this one for seeds. I prayed for a yellow bell pepper. I got it. I’m saving the seeds. So, I might not even get a chance to eat it. I will if I can, but I’m saving it for seeds. This pumpkin, guys. Me leave my basket and show you something. Now, I’ve been planting pumpkins for a very long time, and every time the pumpkins grow, the pest will get to them, even with my efforts of getting rid of the pest. Now, this pumpkin, I don’t know where the seed came from. I don’t know how it got in my container and started to grow, but it is growing from a container right out there. Now, this is my pineapple plant right here with my lovely pineapple. This is my callaloo right next to it. Now guys, take a look. Look at that lovely fruit right down in there. Right next to my pineapple. Do you think I should trouble it? I pollinated it when I saw it. Come on. I’m not troubling it at all. I’m just going to let it grow. And I’m seeing I’m seeing more little foods coming on on the vine. And I’m gonna pollinate as I go. So, oh, I need to go clean up my banana. I might not even make it up top, but I have some beans up there I wanted to harvest, but I need to clean up my banana. My banana fell down. Me take you around there. So, I know I have persons joining me every day, so you don’t know what is going on right here. Let me see a show of Ann in the comments for those of you watching Farming on the Rocks for the first time on this video. Now, if you are, then I need to tell you that these are bananas growing out of half of a barrel right here. Two bunches of bananas. And this one got too heavy for the for the little plant, but it is fit. And the the it is still attached to the root of the banana, so it can remain here. and um ripen up. But in an effort to get it to ripen up quicker, I’m going to remove some of these leaves and allow it to just fit up properly right here on the on the plant. The bigger one, I think I’m going to just share it up green for my friends and my neighbors and myself and eat it. But this one in particular, I wanted to ripe on the vine because it’s my first banana ever. So, I wanted to eat a banana ripe fresh from off of the plant. Did I say vine a while ago? If I did, guys, it’s not a vine. This is a plant. All right. I’m just going to leave the shoot leaf on with it. And these all of these leaves I’m going to be using for mulch. So yes, I’m going to allow it to stay on the thing like that and ripen right there just like we were in the country. Ah, we just came out and it I think the wind took it down. The wind has it has been trying to get my bananas down. That is why we tie up that one. Yeah. Let me go get those beans. This is Kentucky Wonder Bean. Let me see if any of these ready. Now, these ones not ready. I have plenty up top that are ready. This one is loaded though. Oh, I have a few I can pick. Show you what they look like. as these as the vines. So, you don’t want them to get too hard though or you’ll have to strip off the vine. That’s what these look like. Oops. This is what Oops, the light is so bright, guys. Yeah, that’s what those look like. Have these little corns ready. These these have got to be the tiniest corns ever. I never got the chance to pay these much mind. But let me see what Father God did for me on it on his own cuz he he is willing and able to do anything for for us here at Farming on the Rocks. Look at that. Now guys, you tell me this is a nice little sweet corn. Even the tiniest of corn here at Farming on the Rocks produce a full ear. Isn’t that incredible? That’s just a blessing. No, it is definitely a yellow morning. Oh my word, guys. I need one of y’all help to help me weed the grass out of the garden, the shrubs. Whoa. the weeds. Even though I plant in containers and it is less, the weed is less in the containers around the containers. I still have the whole heap of bush bush bush bush. You ever see my East Indian mango? I’m going to do a feature video on it. I’m going to feature the mango only in a future video because it is going on with things. All right, sun coming up, guys. that I tell you about this morning being a yellow morning. I have some crooked neck squashes. The plant, this plant produce so many fruits. Now, these are just some little ones, some br. But guys, I stir fried these and they are delicious. So, I’m taking them. It’s a yellow morning. You know what? So many of these I’m going to come back for the for the others. Another one right here. This plant produce so many fruits. I’m thankful for the big ones. I’m thankful for the small ones. It is getting so bright. I can’t even show you these marles. How pretty they are. Me try. Look at that. It’s beautiful. I wanted the morning to get even more yellow. Look at peppers. I think this is the banana, not banana. I think this is the sweet banana. Guys, remind me what these call again. Is it banana peppers? I think so. Sweet peppers. I think so. I’m hoping cuz if it is not, it is the hot Hungarian walks. Here’s another plant back here. These yellow fruits and um flowers are looking so good in the garden. Can you see the peppers back there? They’re beautiful. Here’s another This is a brighter yellow closer to orange maros. But I have some beans around here that I need to pick right back there. You know, I see something like another banana pepper. Is it banana? I hope I’m saying the right thing. All right, let me get these beans. Where I left my basket, I have some yard long beans. Oh, I probably need to dry these yard long beans right here. Gosh, I need to get these before they get old. I love these. They taste just like regular green beans here. Saving these seeds. My word, they fit up so quick. I just saw these coming on. My little butternut squash soon can pick. I have some Kentucky Wonder over here that I need to harvest, too. Let me grab my basket. These peppers always do so so super good in my garden. I just love them. And if it is the banana pepper, it’s going to be sweet and fruity. Absolutely love them. Wow, these need watering. The sun is coming up in earnest. These are Kentucky Wonder green beans. Wow, these gone too far. My word. All right. So, I’m not going to pine over things going far again, especially when they produce seeds because I have I have um use for seeds now. Is a cayenne pepper looks so good. Or is it? I don’t know. That pepper. All right, moving on. It has been a while since I’ve harvested a watermelon. This is not a big one, but it is a watermelon. I hope it is ready. The tendril is dry under the underbelly looks ripe. So, we’re going to cut it now, guys, and see. Let me go and wash it off. And we’re going to cut this and see if it’s ripe. Let me put it in my basket and head on up. get my basket filled with lots and lots of goodies. Now you tell me, isn’t this just a blessing? Tell me, guys. Look, look at my basket. Look at it. Let me remove the handle so you can see it properly. Now you tell me. I’m a watermelon to top it off. Tell me, guys. You going to squeeze up my mango? Oh dear. Yeah, I think we’re good to go. Yeah. Yes, we’re good to go. a basket heavy. I know you probably miss the shine plan, but I must admit this is doing a better job. Guys, are tired of my basket. I’ll link it in the description, by the way. And my pruna as well. For those of you that always ask, Mari, where you get your things? I’ll I’ll put links in the description. Ah, go wash this now cuz I hungry. Hopefully it don’t flop me. Hopefully this little watermelon. Add a pop of red to my all yellow harvest. Don’t flap me now. Do not flap raster. Right. Put the little point. White B. It did not flap me. It didn’t flap me guys. It did not. Camera is actually not showing it up as red as it is, but you hear how it bursting. That mean it was fit. Guys, you know how long I don’t harvest a watermelon. Oh man, guys. Yes. And guess what? I’ll be able to save seeds. Guess who getting the seeds? Y’all getting the seeds. Look at that. Someone told me they I’ve never seen this variety of watermelon. I don’t remember the variety that I planted, guys. Sorry. But I’ll definitely save the seeds. Now, let’s taste it. [Music] I kid you or not, it tastes as though it was sweetened with sugar. Look at those big fat seeds. Well, well fit. You wanted to see the harvest. Here it is. Now, some persons don’t like melons with a lot of seeds, but I do because I get to save them. I don’t have a problem picking them out. I get to save the seeds so I never have to buy this variety of melon again. Free seed, free food loading. Thank you guys for joining me. I appreciate y’all so so very much. It is so cool because the sun is just coming up. So the night here, the night the night ear cold it all night, guys. Yes. Yes. Thank you for not flopping me. I’m giving the rabbit these. Nothing wasting. My members, thank you for your support. Plant your watermelon according to the moon. That was what we were doing wrong. And Steve, thanks Steve for that. He said, “Baby, plant according to the moon. It will work.” And it need plenty more to eat down there, guys. [Music] Bye guys. Do you have a video of how you pollinate? Could you do one if not?
thanks for sharing Marie.
Good Evening Marie, Wonderful harvest Marie. I am so envious! You are so blessed.
I always ask people who don't like seeds, so if certain fruits have no seeds, where do they come from? That's how they get people to eat genetically modified foods because people are too lazy these days just to take seeds out…imagine that
So much yellow, even the marigolds. That's a Blessing ❤❤
The seeds are good. More natural like how God made them. 😊
