Hey guys, bit of a newbie to the indoor plant community and need some advice. As I was watering my White Princess Philodendron, I’ve accidentally knocked one of the stems that had a new leaf shoot starting. I noticed it wasn’t fully snapped all the way through, so I tried to snip it below the node. I don’t know if I’ve made it better or worse… I’m just wondering if it’s worth trying to propagate and save it or if it’s too far gone? I would like to save if at all possible but unsure is it doable given the breakage. If it is at all able to be saved, then any other advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated bc I’ve never successfully propagated an indoor plant before 🤘🏼🌱

    I mean…. Why not?

A few months ago an accidentally knocked a tip off my begonia while I was walking by it. It was the smallest little plant piece. No more than 1.5 inches long. I decided to try and water propagate it. A couple weeks later the “cutting” sprouted roots and today it’s growing in starter soil and it’s already grown a few leaves since putting it in soil.

You never know… and sometimes plants can surprise you . So why not try and save it?

Always worth a try! All you have to do is stick it in a jar of water and change it out every few days right?

I had a lucky bamboo I was sure was a goner since only a small side shoot with a few leaves was left, and that thing has 2″ roots now.

Philodendrons are incredibly forgiving. Let it callous and throw it in some water.

“sheffileld plants” on YouTube taught me to “plant anything you think won’t make it” and it’s changed my life. went from throwing naked nodes in the garbage to planting them and now I have devils ivy everywhere 🌿
