I'm in the Pacific Northwest and I cut my lawn short so it wouldn't trap leaves as easily. I have a pile of excess garden soil I have been meaning to use but life has gotten in the way until this weekend.

Can I add the soil to my lawn and rake it out? Is the timing off? We haven't had a first frost yet, if that's a factor.

Also yes RIP to all my arborvitae that were planted by my landscapers during a drought <headdesk>

You *could* top dress, but the grass is unlucky to fully grow through it before first frost. Top dressing is best when done during peak growing season.

It’s never too late and I would aerate your lawn first. And add a big pile in the sand in the middle. Get a leveling rake it looks like dry mop without the broom part. Move it back and forth on your lawn till you get it all leveled out.

Lawn looks great. Leave it be and enjoy the holiday season.
