I have a little ping rock going that I like to keep partially submerged in water so the pings can stay moist, but I’m starting to get mold… because mold likes moisture.

Is this harmful? Is there a way to get rid of the mold without harming the pings?

Just let it dry out for a day, they’ll be fine.

When I see algae or mold I know I’m overwatering. Congrats, harder to do than you think.

Mold I give a little spritz of antifungal and let her dry out a second. It may be a fight you have a for a while.

  3. While mold loves moisture, mold needs stagnant air. Increasing air movement will reduce mold growth – a small fan is more than adequate.

Spring tails. Any time I get mold I add more springtails and they eat it all away.

I never see them in my displays either. Just quietly cleaning up and keeping things tidy.
