Hey all! Just got my first batch of lithops but some of them arrived with some spots and others this white powdery stuff in spots. I want to pot them but I'd like to know what I'm kooking at first. I mean, they don't look terrible to my eye I just don't want it to get out of hand if its the beginning of something.

If it's fungus can they be treated with a copper fungicide and furthermore, can that be done when the roots are bare like this?

Thanks in advance!

An article from Steven Hammer mentioned impurities in the water can cause spotting. He recommended rainwater or distilled water.

I was watching a Conophytum webinar from 4 yrs ago given by Matt Opel where he mentioned a non-fatal fungus that could be treated with athletes foot spray, of all things. The recorded webinar was on YouTube and was on the LECSS (Lower Eastside Cactus and Succulent Society, I think) channel, as I recall.

That’s the info that comes to mind. I’m not an expert, just a student of mesembs.
