What plant's root could it be? It's hard to ascertain since it doesn't have any shoot. My only guess is if it could be cannabis plant, since I may have thrown some seeds behind my wardrobe in the past. Or is it something else?
It’s likely fungus not plant. Saw exact same thing on another post recently and stuck out to me because I had a wall like that

You can clean and disinfect the area, but the mold will continue to come back and keep growing if the underlying issue causing it isn’t fixed. And not only are wet conditions structurally damaging to your home, the mold they cause is bad for your health.

I should have put the mask part first so please read the whole thing. Get a clothes steamer and kill it with that before you touch it. This way it can’t throw off spores and actually live inside you .Then coat it with a product such as Goo Gone or Goof Off, to keep little tiny microscopic pieces from wafting off into the air with their toxins and making you sick, it will also help it come off the wall in an amazing way. Wear an n95 mask or rent a respirator so anything that does splash or become airborne will stand less of a chance of being inhaled by you. Then gently remove and place it in a plastic bag. Immediately when you are finished wrap it really well and throw it away in an outside garbage can or if you have a way to burn it safely do that. Now clean the wall. Paint over the wall with a product like Kilz.
Or call a professional. Insist the plumbing get fixed.

Yea, that’s not a root and that can mean pretty bad health problems will happen if you don’t fix the cause of that mold. You need to call in professionals to deal with this. It looks cool until you realize what is going on.

Of you do decide to give it a clean while sorting out the bigger issue, make sure you wear a mask and gloves.
Alcohol is good at killing the spores so make sure you pop some vodka into your cleaning mix
