One of our "friendly" members of this sub seems to think that I'm just a fluffly gentrified americanized hobby farmer who just inherited from his family? So I'm confused, am I allowed to post here or no? Here's some projects from this year for reference. Also original post for further reference https://www.reddit.com/r/homestead/comments/1om0hmg/30yo_guy_and_his_dog_living_in_the_country/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Have at it lad. Keep sharing and enjoying life
lol.
People gatekeeping homesteading are the funniest individuals. I honestly think part of it comes from jealousy, and the other part just ignorance.
My grandpa grew up on a real homestead in deep Appalachia in the 1940’s, he has taught me everything I know about farming, animal husbandry, carpentry, bee keeping, hunting, fishing, so many skills. I wish I knew half of what he has forgot..
But you know what? And he will tell you the same thing from his mouth, he had a great childhood but we have it so much better today. I don’t want to live like he lived, like my great grandpa also lived in those days with no electricity. Eating barrels of pickled cabbage in the winter, outhouses, horse and buggy for 90% of transportation and farm work.
I think you are doing great, and you should keep it up. To hell with the haters, this community welcomes everyone from Suburban chicken ranchers to off the grid mountaineers. Everyone who wants to live a little closer to the land and be a bit more self sufficient is welcome in this sub IMO.
I even catch strays here sometimes when certain people get their feelings hurt that rural living isn’t a nice hippy commune where we are one with nature.
IDK
Is your tangible plan to steadily sustain being at home through reducing interfacing with the empire?
If so, yeah.
No not yet. You need to generate your own power, etc. Rainwater harvest. Need to go off grid and full self reliance
Have you made six children?
Plant more trees
Almost!
No. I don’t see a pile of discarded tyres anywhere.
Of course you can post here. I saw your original post and just went back and had to dig to the bottom of the comments to find what you are referencing. My man, no shade, but if some nobody saying something that nobody saw got so under your skin you needed to cross reference it on both posts…
Either way, building a driveway or living in the country doesn’t define homesteading. It’s also okay to be a guy with a cool tractor and dip your toes in. It’s a welcome change from “I have 11 cents and a 2×4 how do I build a pole barn”, “I need 50 solutions about my Neighbour and none of them can include talking to him” and “I have 10k saved how do I buy 20 acres of prime farmland before I turn 30”
The shot of the house and the porch reminds me of Letterkenny
Get chipper and chip those into mulch, then let them compost to dirt over time. Burning is a waste of organic matter!!! ❤️
Don’t let literally one person (who was down voted) affect you. You have mostly very positive comments on your original post.
The first pic here clearly demonstrates you’re an official homesteader 😂
You’re in!! Keep up the great work 👍👍
Do you have any money left? If the answer to that question is yes, then no, not yet.
Doing a great job so far!
Can u skin a buck run a trout line
Shit u sound like winner to me. I vote why the hell not
So you made this post because one guy in a previous post upset you, and now you have to prove yourself? You realize that’s kinda weird… right? Maybe you should take a break from the internet.
Never seen a homesteader with 3 tractors!
Do what you want. Life like your is worth living.
I’m a weekend at a farm guy still working a day job…nobody told me to go.
Shhh….i don’t own a tractor…
Wait, we’re not allowed to be fluffy gentrified Americanized hobby farmers?
Aight boys, I’m out.
You need at least three more hazardous obstacles on your property.
I’m not sure who determines that sort of thing
